Outsmart Your Pain has been designed with the pain-sufferer in mind – keeping advice and instruction concise for those with limited ability to concentrate on a lengthy text. In fifteen brief chapters this book covers different mindfulness and compassion concepts introducing the reader to how to apply these for pain relief. Each chapter is divided into the parts of the what, why and how: What is the concept, why it is helping with pain, and how to put it into practice. Some practices are guided meditations, others are reflections, others are brief awareness practices to use while going through the day, all of which can help shift the perception and thereby the experience of how pain is experienced.
